About Govardhan Puja
Govardhan Puja, the day after Diwali, recalls Krishna lifting Govardhan hill to shelter the people of Vrindavan. It is also the Gujarati New Year.
How it is observed
Families prepare Annakut — a “mountain” of many dishes — as an offering to Krishna. Gujarati families exchange new-year greetings (Saal Mubarak).
