About Ratha Saptami
Ratha Saptami celebrates Surya, the Sun god, and is traditionally regarded as his birthday — the day his chariot turns northward.
How it is observed
Devotees take a bath at sunrise, offer arghya (water) to the Sun and recite Surya prayers such as the Aditya Hridayam.
