About Karva Chauth
Karva Chauth is observed mainly by married women in North India, who fast for the wellbeing and long life of their husbands.
How it is observed
Women fast from sunrise without food or water, gather for the evening Karva Chauth katha and puja, and break the fast after sighting the moon.
About the time shown: The fast ends at local moonrise — shown here for your city. Moonrise in New Zealand is very different from India.
